Abstract

It is common to watch movies, series, news, or books from other countries and compare what they describe with the reality experienced in Ecuador. One of these comparisons is the way in which public forces in other states operate, especially in how they neutralize and/or execute a person for some action or omission, raising the question of whether or not the same behavior is practiced in Ecuador.
This scientific article delves into the way in which public forces operate, both in Ecuador and in other countries such as Argentina, New Zealand, Spain, among others, investigating whether the way they carry out their operations complies with the regulations established in the corresponding legal bodies on the progressive use of force. This way, it is possible to corroborate whether public forces operate in Ecuador in a better or worse manner, what other countries have implemented to achieve positive results, and what mistakes they have made to avoid making the same errors.
