Synergy between financial control and evaluation processes in educational contexts

Abstract

This study examines the synergy between financial control and evaluative processes in higher education institutions, focusing on the EuroAmerican University Institute. The central issue lies in the tension between ensuring institutional financial sustainability and students' right to education, particularly when payment restrictions limit access to evaluations. The study aimed to analyze this synergy to identify management strategies that ensure administrative efficiency without disrupting students' academic continuity. A mixed-methods approach was employed, including surveys with 60 faculty members and interviews with 4 administrative staff. Results indicate that 73.3% of faculty perceive financial control as beneficial for institutional order, yet criticisms highlight its rigidity, such as automatic blocks in the MODVS platform barring students from exams. While 83.3% view the system as equitable, 16.7% note insufficient flexibility for students facing economic hardships. The conclusions emphasize the need to explore more inclusive policies, improved communication, and stronger coordination between administrative and academic areas. A strategic approach is proposed to balance financial efficiency with student support, ensuring economic restrictions do not undermine academic development.
