Adventure tourism for children: design of a touristic route in El Oro

Abstract
Relating adventure tourism with tourism education in children, promotes an economic and social interest for the tourism system; this type of tourism is an excellent alternative for sustainable and sustainable development of the locality, considering that the tourism product to be exploited in this research, are three cantons of the Province of El Oro. This province has a unique diversity of flora and fauna, its natural charm captivates everyone who visits it. Its natural attractions are ideal to practice recreational and fun adventure tourism, thus generating a social and economic benefit. For this reason, the main objective of this research work is to design a tourist route aimed at children between 8 and 12 years of age, in the cantons of El Guabo, Pasaje and Santa Rosa in the province of El Oro, Ecuador, promoting adventure tourism. A non-experimental methodology has been used, with a qualitative and quantitative approach; and a transversal temporality, in addition to instruments such as: survey and observation. The insitu visits were carried out in a period of approximately one month; filling out the hierarchy cards of the selected natural attractions. For the research, the participation of the surveyed population was necessary: parents from the three cantons. The results show that public and private institutions should get more involved in the development of promotion and infrastructure of tourist attractions, since some of them are deteriorating due to human action and natural threats. Thanks to the field study, it was possible to design a tourist route that meets the needs of the demand, where the attractions and adventure activities maintain safe conditions for their development.
