Abstract

The objective of the research was to analyze public and private investment and the effect it generated on the finances of the Ecuadorian State in the years 2016 to 2022, through the indicators that built the selected variables, of a quantitative nature, for the analysis the General State Budget was used as a planning tool, the revenues that leverage public finances from own and private resources. A documentary design was used because it allowed the search for information used in different sources of information obtained and registered by other researchers. The method used is a descriptive research with a quantitative approach through statistical analysis that allows to show the behavior of the dependent variable: State finances and the independent variable: Public and private investment. The data collection is carried out from the macroeconomic indicators of the annual General State Budget of the evaluation period 2016 to 2022 in which the evolution and movements experienced by the variables are reflected. It was determined that the State's finances depend on two sources of financing that are: revenues from the public sector which reflect about 10% compared to revenues from the private sector around 90% during the years 2016 to 2022 of external origin loans from international organizations aimed at financing fiscal deficits in the evaluation periods.
