Game-based learning as a didactic strategy in the Career Dentistry

Abstract

It is very important that the university student have a good preparation, with knowledge, abilities and skills that can be applied in their professional life, so efficient instruction in university life is the basic for it, reinforcing said knowledge with practices and skills that reinforce learning. Currently, the game is being implements in the classroom, in order to improve the quality of education in the student, in addition to leaving the professional class that can be repetitive and boring, reducing the ability to contrate and directly affect the performance and later professional life of the student. The present study seeks to know Game-Based Learning can be used as a didactic strategy to improve the student’s educational experience in learning, in students of the Dentistry career at the Catholic University of Cuenca. It is an investigation that presents a mixed approach, with a descriptive -exploratory scope, in wich the importance of the game in the student is learning process is demostrated its approach is quantitative designed to have important information, based on the experience of teachers. A qualitative approach will be developed, with the formation of a focus group that will allow closely the challenges that teachers have and if it is possible to solve them.

Electronic Engineer by profession, graduated from the Salesian Polytechnic University, graduated with a Master's degree in Educational Informatics from the Technical University of Ambato, graduated as a Specialist in University Teaching from the University of Azuay, Specialist in Virtual Teaching Environments and Educational Technology, has been a teacher of graduate and postgraduate degrees at several universities in the country, he is currently working as the academic coordinator of the master's degrees in Education, Technology and Innovation and the Master's degree in Intercultural Education at the Catholic University of Cuenca.
