Abstract

The search for innovation in the construction of buildings in the city of Quito, due to the demand for structures with contemporary designs, creates the need to analyze the systems that are being used worldwide such as post-tensioned slabs, in order to apply them in the locality. So, this document describes the types of post-tensioned slabs that can be made, with their materials and tools applied in their slab; identifying the existence and costs of these inputs in the locality. In addition, data obtained in titling works that were developed in the country are analyzed, making an economic comparison with traditional slab systems making known the economic benefits that are obtained with the implementation of post-tensioned slabs in buildings, through a price update as of February 2020 of suppliers that offer the materials within the locality. Obtaining as results that with the system of post-tensioned flat slabs compared to a system of flat or relieved slabs of reinforced concrete one has economic benefits, these being better to greater lights between spans.
